From Alfred 10/2013

Gary,

Thank you for sharing photos and highlighting your purview of La Puente and its surrounding communities. A great affection for our history.

I was born in Baldwin Park at was then Hartland Hospital on Francisquito and Puente Avenue. Now, its a CVS and a nursing home, hopefully not a sign of things to come for me.

I was raised in our family home in Downtown La Puente on 2nd Street across the street from the Library. That was the late sixties through the early eighties. Amongst my favorite memories is of my friends and I riding our bikes to Puente Hills Mall to watch Back to the Future being filmed.

While my Marine Corps service and finance/legal career have afforded me travel across the globe, La Puente always gives me a since of belonging groundedness.

Your expose reignited my sense of pride for La Puente. Your efforts are appreciated, keep up the insightful work. Best wishes!

Carpe diem,
